Where2Talk™ Named Semi-Finalist in 2006 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge
First-of-its Kind Service from Clarity Communication Systems Offers Mobile Phone Users Instant Communications and Location in One Application
Aurora, Illinois, March 20, 2006 - Clarity Communication Systems Inc., a leading provider of Push-to-Talk (PTT) solutions and Location-Based Services (LBS) for the wireless industry, announced today that its new Where2Talk product is a semi-finalist, Business Applications category, in the 2006 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge. The Challenge was created to stimulate location-enabled services in the wireless space, encouraging and recognizing developers building innovative applications. The NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge is held in conjunction with the CTIA WIRELESS 2006 Conference in Las Vegas, April 5th to 7th.
Where2Talk, the first product for mobile phones that combines location with PTT in one application, will be demonstrated in Clarity's kiosk at NavTeq's Booth No. 4330, North Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center.
Where2Talk combines "location at-a-glance" with the instant calling and presence capabilities of PTT. The PTT contact list now presents who is available and where they are located. The service lets enterprises track their mobile workers and instantly communicate with individuals and groups with a convenient easy-to-use interface. It also provides families with peace of mind by enabling parents to keep tabs on their children's whereabouts and instantly reach them at the push of a button.
The evaluation version of Where2Talk is available now directly from Clarity; the commercial version is planned for release in Q3 of 2006. More information can be found at NAVTEQ's Press Center.
